A 28-year-old man was arrested here for an acid attack on a girl

Agra: A 28-year-old man was arrested here for an acid attack on a girl that she escaped but critically injured her father, police said Monday.An first information report was registered against Yogesh Pandit Sunday who allegedly threw acid on a girl who managed to escape but badly burnt her father, who had to be hospitalised.Pandit and his friend were taken into custody. "They were caught by the neighbours who rushed after hearing the cries of the family," said an official. In a scuffle between the girl's father and Yogesh acid fell on the girl's father, who sustained burn injuries on hand and face.Pandit was allegedly following the girl for last two years. The family due to fear of getting a bad name did not lodge a complaint.Neighbours told media that the police initially was reluctant to act, but after a protest by members of a political party, a case was finally registered.Senior Superintendent of Police Shalabh Mathur, however said: " Police takes up such matters on priority and keeps the information confidential." 4kg gold seized at MGBS in Hyderabad

During the regular frisking carried out at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Stand at Hyderabad, the police found 4Kg gold held by a person on Monday. The gold was seized and the man was sent to remand. The police have been inquiring his personal details as well as the details pertaining to the gold that has been seized from him.

City Light Hotel Collapsed at R.P Road

Hyderabad, July 8th,2013 : In a shocking incident 13 people were killed and more than 20 others injured in an old city light hotel building collapse case that took place around 6 am in the morning in R.P.Road.As per reports the building age is 90 years.Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation people who rushed in to rescue operation immediately after the incident have shifted the grievously injured victims to Gandhi Hospital.
